Behind the words written here is the man, Matt Edwards. I live and work in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada – my hometown that I love. I get engrossed by learning about and discussing interesting topics and thoroughly enjoy spending time with the people I’m fortunate to call my friends and family. The world holds endless intrigue and I get excited each time I add to the list of places I’ve visited. Professionally, I work in business transformation which involves strategic planning, business analysis, change management, and program delivery – a perfect fit due to the new challenges and learning opportunities I’m presented with on a regular basis.
When I started this blog, this was my “About” line:
At any moment of the day one of two things is happening: either my genius is being put to waste and I need an outlet, or I’ve been drinking and I’m truly a wasted genius.
Okay, I fully admit, styling myself as the WastedGenius was a bit of a stretch, regardless of how clever and fitting I thought it was. Today, I look at the moniker and the statement above as more tongue-in-cheek; trust me, there are countless others who are smarter and wiser. But here we are all the same. So enough of that, here are a few things I’ve learned along the way:
- You can’t save the whole world, but you can save the world for one person.
- Focus on the things you can control, otherwise you’ll worry endlessly about those you can’t.
- Just be a friend and show up.
